For thousands of years, long before the modern nation was founded in 1948, Israel has been a powerful symbol of Jewish values. An ideal that embraced the hopes and dreams of so many generations. But turning a mythical vision into a practical reality has proven difficult. This 3-session course will explore some of Israel’s founding ideals, compare them with current realities, and attempt to determine where criticism turns into antisemitism.
