Our Values

Our Values

Temple Beth El exists to build and nurture holy relationships. At our essence, we are a community who is there for one another in times of joy and sadness; an extended family for social, cultural, and religious gathering.

We warmly embrace Jews from many walks of life and all kinds of Jewish families, including interfaith, LGBTQ, Jews of Color, and those with disabilities. We practice audacious hospitality at Temple, and consciously choose musicians, speakers, and books to highlight and normalize minority Jews.

We deeply value interfaith work and community partnerships. We cultivate and invest in relationships with our neighbors, especially those from different faith communities. We recognize that we are stronger together than we could ever be on our own.

Our leadership is thoughtful, forward thinking, and not afraid to take risks. We are always striving to be more inclusive, to meet the changing needs of our members today, to engage in relevant and sometimes difficult conversations with one another, and to expand our understanding of what it means to be Jewishly engaged in 2022.
