The Klezmer Academy at Temple Beth El
September 2024 – March 2025
Join us for a fantastic opportunity for intermediate and advanced musicians to explore the vibrant tradition of Klezmer music.
The group will be open to 7-12th graders playing wind, string, or percussion instruments.
Rehearsals will run from September 2024 to March 2025 on
Sundays from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.
The first session is on September 22nd.
Students will also be given multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.
The group will be directed by Alan Posner who is a founding member and former director of the Kidz Klez Band of Michigan, musical director of the professional Detroit Klezmer band “Klezundheit”, and band director at Bloomfield Hills High School. For more information contact Debbie Morosohk at
The participation fee for the Klezmer Academy is $150 per student.
