TBE Brotherhood invites you to join them on
3:00 PM
SUNDAY, APRIL 26
Please note that this concert is different from our normal Neighborhood DSO Concerts in both location and timing. It will take place at The Hawk in Farmington on Sunday afternoon, April 26 at 3:00 pm.
People who enjoy great music played by the strings will really like the next DSO Neighborhood concert! Two of the pieces are for a string orchestra alone, the third is for string orchestra with a violin soloist, and the fourth is a string quartet by Franz Schubert. Hai-Xin Wu is the violin soloist. The concert will be conducted by DSO Concertmaster Robyn Bollinger.
Entitled Vaughan Williams’s “The Lark Ascending”, the concert is described by the DSO website this way:
Take flight with Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending, then dive into the raw emotion of Schubert’s Death and the Maiden. In a rare unconducted performance, DSO Concertmaster Robyn Bollinger leads the Orchestra on a journey from quiet hope to fierce musical power, featuring Assistant Concertmaster Hai-Xin Wu.
The program actually includes two more pieces as follows:
ANDREA CASARRUBIOS – Anthem
ROSSINI – Sonata No. 3 in C major for String Orchestra
VAUGHAN WILLIAMS – The Lark Ascending, Romance for Violin and Orchestra SCHUBERT – String Quartet in D minor (“Death & the Maiden”)
Our discounted group price is $29 a person. You will pick up your tickets on the night of the concert and then go into the auditorium to choose your seats. Paid-up Brotherhood members, including those joining now, can purchase 1 or 2 tickets at the subsidized price of $20 each.
