Rabbi Brudney will welcome her old friend Dr. Andrew Tobolowsky who is the Robert & Sarah Boyd Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the College of William and Mary. Dr. Tobolowsky specializes in the study of the Hebrew Bible in its Near Eastern and Mediterranean context. In our session, he will focus on biblical traditions about the twelve tribes of Israel, and the important role that texts like Deuteronomy 33 play in revealing the history of tribal concepts.
Weekly discussion of the Torah portion via Zoom. Mourner’s Kaddish followed by Kiddush and Motzi.
