Klezmer Academy For Teen Musicians
The Klezmer Academy at Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Hills will offer a fantastic opportunity for intermediate and advanced musicians to explore the vibrant tradition of Klezmer music.
The group will be open to 7-12th graders playing wind, string, or percussion instruments.
Rehearsals will run from October 2025 to April 2026 on Sundays from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.
The first session is on October 5.
Students will also be given multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.
The group will be directed by Alan Posner who is a founding member and former director of the Kidz Klez Band of Michigan, musical director of the professional Detroit Klezmer band “Klezundheit”, and band director at Bloomfield Hills High School. For more information contact Debbie Morosohk at
The participation fee for the Klezmer Academy is $200 per student.
