Through the initiative of William Dash, a senior at Chippewa Valley High School, the first ever 5K Walk for Autism took place at the high school on April 29. Proceeds from the walk will go toward a newly-created scholarship for students with autism to be administered by the Macomb-St. Clair Autism Society of America. Proof that autism is no bar to success, William will enter Macomb Community College in the fall. His proud parents are Christa & Michael Dash.

Past Temple president, David Page, was profiled in the March 22 Jewish News under the header, At age 78, community leader has no plans to slow down". His impressive roster of community commitments, in addition to his ongoing role as a partner at Honigman law firm, includes vice chair of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, chair of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Michigan and membership on a host of community and company boards.

Dr. Nat Pernick was honored April 20 by the Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance with the Cody Rouge Presidential Award in recognition of the work that the Detroit College Promise has done for area youth.

Alan Posner was featured in "Welcome Back!" in the March 22 Jewish News, a column highlighting young professionals who have returned to the community. Band director at Berkley Public Schools and musical director of the Kids Klez Band of Michigan, Alan is a TBE graduate and the son of Gail & Ken Posner.

Adam Zureick was recently honored to perform with the National High School Honors Orchestra in Atlanta, Georgia. Adam was selected as one of three trumpet players in the nation to perform with this prestigious orchestra at the American String Teachers Association National Conference held in March. Adam is the son of Drs. Brenda & Samir Zureick.
