ISRAEL CHAI COMMITTEE AIDS ISRAELI SOLDIERS

Once again, the Israel Chai Committee has come to the assistance of Israeli soldiers. Following a plea from Lori Schaefer Bacher, a former Detroiter now living in Israel, the committee previously donated $1000 for the purchase of bulletproof vests for members of the IDF. Lori has written again, this time asking for funds for boots. Although the army issues boots to the soldiers, there are not sufficient funds to provide the quality footwear that is equal to their needs. Their boots wear out and the soldiers suffer shin splints and other foot ailments brought on by inadequate footwear. Proper boots cost $170 a pair. The Israel Chai Committee has elected to once again meet a need and donate $1000 for the purchase of six pairs of boots. Should you be interested in helping with this or other projects of the committee, please contact Phyllis Loewenstein at yedida@aol.com
