If you have recently lost a loved-one and are struggling with feelings of sadness and other emotions related to your loss, a grief support group may be just what you need to help you process and cope with your loss.
Grief specialist, Judith Burdick, M.A., L.L.P, will conduct an interactive support group beginning Wednesday, November 9 and continuing for four Wednesdays.
A grief survivor herself, Judith and her children, then six and four, lost their husband and father in a scuba diving accident. Living far from family and friends, she struggled to find the support necessary to get through her loss. Two years after her husband’s death, she returned to the Detroit area and to school, earning a Master’s in clinical psychology. Since then, she has developed and facilitated a program for Hospice of Michigan and other agencies for young widows and widowers, as well as a practice specializing in grief and loss. Her focus is on helping others to process grief in a healthy way and gain the necessary tools to move forward and embrace life again.
